Variant Details

Showing all: 1 variant(s).

Variant ID.  4128
Epitope Seq.  ILKEPVHGVY
Variant Seq.  ILKEPVHGaY
Mutations V/A
Epitope Location V9A
HXB2 Location V472A
Mutation Type AKB: altered KIR binding or increased/decreased off-rate
Method CTL suppression of replication, HLA binding, Other
Note The 9A mutant, ILKEPVHGaY, gave a greater CTL immune response than the WT, ILKEPVHGVY. The mechanism of this action was related to a lower expression of HLA-Cw*1202 on the surface of the presenting cells, thus diminishing KIR2DL2 recognition, and resulting in greater NK cell activation.
