Mutations | V/A |
Epitope Location | V9A |
HXB2 Location | V472A |
Mutation Type | AKB: altered KIR binding or increased/decreased off-rate |
Method | CTL suppression of replication, HLA binding, Other |
Note | The 9A mutant, ILKEPVHGaY, gave a greater CTL immune response than the WT, ILKEPVHGVY. The mechanism of this action was related to a lower expression of HLA-Cw*1202 on the surface of the presenting cells, thus diminishing KIR2DL2 recognition, and resulting in greater NK cell activation. |
