Patient Note SUMA or Patient 4 infected at age 22, presented to University of Alabama at Birmingham hospital. 6 days before transmission to WEAU Patient 1, SUMA's CD4 count was 42 cells/ml [Clark1991; PMID: 1900576] and [Graziosi1993; PMID: 8341646]. SUMA established a low persisting VL (2,258 HIV-1 RNA copies/ml at 278 DFOSx) and maintained a high CD4 count (722 cells/ml throughout 7 yrs of follow-up [Piatak1993; PMID: 8096089]. HLA genotype personal communication from Emma Turnbull [PTH 6/09].
