| Patient Note | Subtype B-infected patient KI-108 elicits response to and carries HIV-1 Pol epitope LI8, LQKQITKI (Murakoshi2017). KI-108 responds to HIV-1 RT173-181 C*12:02-restricted epitope, KY9, KQNPDIVIY, but weakly to KY9 mutants KQNPDIVIc and KQNPDIVIv (Kuse2015). Murakoshi2019 reports that CTL specific for epitope MQMLKETI(MI8) from WT HIV-1-infected KI-774 were generated into T cell clone lines. Yagita2013 shows that this ART naive patient carries Pol283-8-specific CTL as shown by ICS but does not recognize the same epitope when used as PBMC for EliSpot. The evolution of Gag RI8 escape mutant RMYSPsSI from RMYSPTSI was observed in treatment-naive chronically infected subject KI-108. [Zhang2020, PMID: 32699092] |
