Notes

• DCs pulsed with HIV-1 primed T cell responses from naive T cells. Responses included CD4+ and CD8+ T cell epitopes shown to be recognized in vivo by HIV-infected individuals, as well as new CD4+ epitopes.
• This is novel epitope that was primed in vitro, but have not previously been described in the literature. Response to this epitope was confirmed in acutely infected individuals, but not in chronically infected individuals, which suggests that this novel epitope is among the earliest recognized in vivo, but the responses are lost rapidly. This can explain why this epitope was not previously reported.
