Notes

• Sequence mutations were studied during acute infection in 7 subjects. Mutations within CD4 epitopes were coincident with changes in the peptide-specific CD4 response.
• In one patient, QVPLRPMTYKAAlDLSHF mutation was coincident with a gain of response. In another patient, QVPLRPMTYKgAlDLtHF variant coincided with no response. QVPLRPMTYKgAlDLSHF variant 4 weeks later coincided with a positive response.
