Notes

• Immunogenicity of p24CE plasmid DNA vaccine containing 7 Gag conserved elements was studied in macaques. A novel strategy involving vaccine prime followed by a p55^gag DNA boost increases magnitude and breadth of CTL immune response to Gag as well as alters hierarchy of epitope recognition, avoiding decoy epitopes.
• LEEMMTACQGVGGPGHK Group M peptide (CE7) induced helper T-cell response in 1/10 macaques 2 weeks after priming with vaccine-containing p24CE1 (LEEMMTACQGVGGPGHK) + p24CE2 (LEEMMTACQGVGGPsHK), and in 1/10 when followed by Gag boost; no response when exposed to WT gag DNA alone.
