• A DNA/rAD vaccine induced greater HIV-1-specific CD8+ T-cell responses and higher antibody titers, compared to either a DNA or rAD vaccine alone. This boost in recognition increased the frequency of CTL response, but did not affect either functional avidity or recognition pattern much. Epitopes mapped in Gag and Env demonstrated partial cross-clade recognition.
• 1/9 vaccinees (Subject J) had a positive response to this peptide in EliSpot assay. It was shown to be a CD4 epitope by ICS assay.
