Notes

• A DNA vaccine, HIVBr27, was designed with 27 tandem HLA-DR-binding peptides predicted by the TEPITOPE algorithm, and was used to immunize BALB/c mice. Broad, cross-clade and polyfunctional CD4+ and CTL responses including proliferation and production of IFN-γ, TNF-α were detected against the vaccine in wt and transgenic mice.
• Helper epitope, ETAYFILKLAGRWPVKVI, binds 11/17 (65%) HLA-DR, 4/11 (37%) HLA-DQ and 6/8 (75%) HLA-DP tested. It was recognized by 2/9 patients carrying an HIV-1 BF recombinant, 3/14 patients with B subtype, 1/1 BC recombinant-carrying patient and 1/1 patient infected with F subtype HIV-1. Integrase(96-113) elicits immune response in BALB/c mice.
• In vitro binding assays show that epitope Integrase(96-113) binds the following HLA: DP, DQ, DRB1*0101, DRB1*0301, DRB1*0405, DRB1*0802, DRB1*0901, DRB1*1001, DRB1*1101, DRB1*1601, DRB1*1602, DRB3*0101, DRB6*0101; I-A^b, I-A^d.
