• 217 10-mers spanning HIV-1 Gag p24 were screened for their ability to stabilize binding to HLA-Cw*0102 along with binding to KIR2DL2. While 11 peptides were found that could stabilize HLA-Cw*0102 binding, only 1, AAEWDRLHPV, could also engage KIR2DL2 resulting in inhibition of degranulation of KIR2DL2(+)NK cells.
• Variants at position 7 of AAEWDRLHPV, AAEWDRxHPV, affect binding of KIR2Dl2 NK cells to T2 (CTL) cells, and could inhibit degranulation.
