• Immunogenicity of HICconsv (HIV conserved regions) vaccine was studied in rhesus macaques. Six different vaccine modalities were delivered: plasmid DNA, attenuated human and chimpanzee adenoviruses, modified vaccinia virus Ankara, synthetic long peptides, and Semliki Forest virus replicons.
• Adjuvanted synthetic long peptides HIVconsv (SLP.HIVconsv) elicited T-cell responses to a much larger number of epitopes compared with conventional single-open-reading-frame genetic vaccines
• This peptide was recognized by 1/3 HIVconsv-vaccinated rhesus macaques.
