• Fifteen peptides were identified from NL4-3-infected C*12:02 single-allele-transfected cells, revealing preferences for A (strongest), S, E, L, I, and V at the 2nd position and F, Y, L, and K at the C terminus position. One novel peptide RAIEAQQHL and 2 previously reported peptides (ILKEPVHGVYY and VARELHPEY) are immunodominant and were the only 3 peptides of 13 assessed that elicited a CTL response in 20 chronically HIV-1-infected C*12:02+ (a protective allele) subjects.
• VARELHPEYF, which includes the Nef-MY9 epitope (VARELHPEY), was observed in HLA-peptide complexes from C*12:02-expressing cells infected with NL4-3.
