Notes

• CH078 was a South African patient dually infected with 2 subtype C strains. The patient's responses to epitopes were studied longitudinally for ˜441 days post-screening, and the responses and escape mutations were correlated to recombination between the 2 viral strains. Differential T cell targeting of the 2 founder viruses drove accelerated recombination-mediated escape.
• Response to SFDPIPIHF was shared between both of the founder viruses. The restricting HLA (A*30) was based on motif, not experimentally validated.
