Notes

• Mutational positions associated with escape and reversion were studied in a single subject (CH77) to determine their effects on viral fitness.
• In the Tat epitope RRPAQDSKINQ, the reversion mutation RRPAQDSKtNQ was predominant in the patient's sequences, among other variants, at all timepoints from 14 to 592 days post-seroconversion. The mutant had reduced fitness compared to the wild type sequence.
• CH77 is known to be infected with Clade B HIV-1, consensus epitope at this location for ConB is RRapQDSqthQ.
