• This review makes the argument that T-cell subsets recognizing the HIV/SIV viral infectivity factor Vif, may be essential for control of HIV replication as vif-deficient strains can only complete one round of replication and Vif targets the cellular viral-restriction-factor, APOBEC3G (A3G) with the help of Elongin B/C and Cullin-5 to proteasomal degradation.
