• HIV-1 peptide-specific IFN-γ responses were measured over the first year of life for vertically-infected infants. Late-infected infants (between months 1 and 12) had responses that were more rapid and more focused than those infected before 1 month of life.
• 1/5 infants tested recognized AS/TQEVKNWM.
• Variants of this peptide were AS/TQEVKNWM (AsQEVKNWM and AtQEVKNWM)
