• An HIV-1 artificial polyprotein vaccine comprising Gag, Pol, Nef (GPN) and a secreted Env elicited higher Env-specific than Gag-specific CTL responses. In this study modifications such as intramuscular administration, co-administration, alterations in molar ratio of DNA vaccines, spatially and temporally separated administration, forced co-expression from one plasmid and deletion of an H-2d epitope were used to increase levels of Gag-specific T cells.
• A9I epitope, AMQILKDTI, was used to assess Gag-specific CTL responses.
