Notes

• Chronically infected HIV-1-infected patients were examined during treatment interruption (TI) for associations between viral control and presence of escape mutations. Patients 311 and 313 who had best viral control exhibited CTL response against at least 1-2 epitopes early in TI, followed by increasing numbers of epitopes recognized and increasing mutations developed in time . In patient 410 with worst viral load control only 2 epitopes elicited CTL response through all of TI, and no mutations were detected.
• Epitope AEQASQEVKNWMT elicited a CTL response from week 24 after start of TI in Patient 313; no mutants were found to develop.
