These inhibitors altered degradation patterns, sensitivity of peptides to degradation, kinetics and amounts of epitope production and therefore recognition by CTLs.
No effect was seen on killing by RK9-specific CTL in presence of PIs. RK9 is A*03 restricted.

Saquinavir produced antitope to B*57-restricted ISW9, QAISPRTL, but reduced 2-ISW9, QAISPRTLNAW production. ISW9-specific CTL increased their kinetics and killing in presence of Ritonavir and stability of the epitope.
