• Similarity level of the polyclonal Ab binding site pentapeptide KAYDT to the host proteome was low, with the low-similarity 5-mer occurring in the host proteome 0 times, indicating that this peptide can be used to elicit Abs for active/passive immunotherapy with low risk of cross-reaction with the host proteome. • Vaccinia p14 can elicit NAbs and p39 tends to be immunodominant, so these two proteins were fused to regions of HIV-1 Env -- reduced glycosylation was noted when p14 or p39 was placed in the N-term region of the fusion protein -- chimeric proteins shifted the Env Ab response from V3 to either a C1 or C4 domain, depending on the construct -- all chimeric Env proteins: 14kEnv, 39kEnv, and Env39k elicited a strong Ab response to the C1 region of gp120 (LFCASDAKAYDTEVHNVWAT), and Env39k mounted a strong response to the C4 region (KAMYAPPISGQIRCSSNITG) Collado2000
