Neutralizing antibody responses in rhesus macaques infected with SHIV variants HXB2, 89.6, and 89.6PD were studied. The SHIV infections resulted in induction of high-titer neutralizing Abs to homologous SHIV and HIV-1 strains; heterologous NAbs responses were infrequent and only detected after 40 weeks of infection.
