Epitope Subtype | A, C |
Variant Subtype | B |
Note | CTL responses in three individuals with non-clade B infections were studied, 2 with subtype A infections, 1 with subtype C -- their infections all originated in East Africa. This epitope is most commonly SLYNTVATL in B subtype, and CTL from the C subtype infection did not recognize B clade gag or the 3Y form of the epitope, but did recognize the predominant A and C clade form, SLFNTVATL. |
