COMMENT     This virus was PCR-amplified from PBMC DNA from a 46-year-old man
	    living in Bertoua, Cameroon, who had acquired his infection by a
	    blood transfusion. It appears to be a novel recombinant of CRF01_AE
	    and subtype A. The patient's viral load was 591,000 at the time of
	    sampling. This is segment 1 of a 2 segment entry, with the env
	    through nef gene region in the entry with accession number
	    AY037285. The region of bases 3350-3850 is more similar to many
	    nonrecombinant subtype A strains than it is to CRF01_AE strains.
	    Another region in env, where CRF01_AE strains are "E", is also
	    A-like in the other fragment of this genome AY03785. This virus is
	    thus beleived to represent a "backcross" between a CRF01_AE
	    genome and a subtype A genome.
